• Kampot River: The Kampot River itself is a notable attraction, and no visit to the area is complete without enjoying a boat ride or canoeing to appreciate the scenery. These boat excursions are both affordable and relaxing, particularly during sunset when the sun dips behind the mountains. Equally enjoyable is meandering through the town, where one can explore various small coffee shops and local businesses. One notable route leads from Kampot to Kep, spanning approximately 40 kilometers one way, culminating in a delightful small beach. A short distance from Kep lies Koh Tonsai, also known as Rabbit Island, which attracts visitors for day trips to enjoy its sandy shores, crystal-clear waters, comfortable hammocks, and exceptional seafood served in quaint beachside restaurants.

Kampot experiences more variable weather compared to other regions of the country, primarily due to its coastal location and the influence of Bokor Mountain on the climate. During the rainy season, the area can experience significant rainfall, and the relatively simple roads outside the town center may become impassable due to water accumulation and mud. Nevertheless, similar to many areas in Cambodia, rainstorms typically dissipate quickly, allowing for at least some sunshine on most days. The dry season is an excellent time to visit Kampot, as the river and mountains provide a welcome respite from the intense heat and dust.
